The table below provides approximate salary ranges for biotechnology scientists in the San Diego region, based on level of education and training.

Able for perform basic tests and experiments in a lab. Understands the concept behind standard lab testing and equipment. Great work ethic.

Scientific Level I
AA or BS
0-1 year
Able to perform basic tests and experiments in a lab. Some formal and informal exposure to equipment and instrumentation. Concise verbal, written and data entry skills. Ability to keep an accurate lab notebook.

Scientific Level II
BS
1-2 years
Fundamental laboratory and data implementation experience. Some equipment and instrumentation skills. Familiar with many methods and techniques. Requires task management and supervision by a lab manager. Concise verbal, written and data entry skills.
